The turf comes with drainage holes so that the urine drains into the grooved plastic mat, where it can be cleaned easily or a puppy pad can sit to absorb the urine.  The plastic heavy duty mat is grooved so that the urine sits in one spot for easy cleanup.

This system come with two turf mats so that you have a spare should one get dirty. This allows for easy rotation of the turf mats.
