5 Tips for Cleaning your PGB Artificial Lawn

We recommend a few basic steps to keep your artificial turf looking clean and pristine. First, debris can build up over time on your synthetic turf with regular use and other environmental factors. Follow these simple steps to help protect the longevity of your artificial turf and, in turn, your investment.

#1 Use ice to clear sticky stuff

Suppose your artificial turf comes into contact with a sticky substance, e.g., tree sap or gum, for some reason. The quickest and easiest way to clean it up is to make it cold enough to be able to pick it up with your fingers. We recommend using either ice cubes or an aerosol refrigerant; these will freeze the sticky substance and, in turn, make it easier to pick apart and remove. If you choose to use an aerosol refrigerant, we recommend first trying it on a small unnoticeable area.

#2 Use spirits for stubborn stains

If your artificial turf ever comes in contact with oil or oil-based products. Rinse the stain’s area gently with mineral spirits, also known as mineral turpentine. Gently using a rag to blot up the excess liquid, this degreaser should help remove the oil-based product from your artificial turf.

However, in saying so, it is always preferable to apply it in a small inconspicuous area before actually using it on the stain, as there is no guarantee of the outcome. This may also void the warranty of your artificial turf.

#3 Removal of blood

Suppose a situation arises where your turf will come in contact with blood. In such cases, use a mixture of equal parts of vinegar and water.

However, in saying so, it is always preferable to apply it in a small inconspicuous area before actually using it on the stain, as there is no guarantee of the outcome. This may also void the warranty of your artificial turf.

#4 Regular cleaning of the artificial grass

Brushing your artificial turf regularly if it is in a high traffic area will help keep it looking great and help keep dust, dirt, and leaves off of your turf. To accomplish this easy and quick task, you can use either an artificial turf-specific rake, a power broom, or a wet/dry shop vac to vacuum up any debris. Just run it over your artificial turf against the blades to brush them up and remove unwanted rubbish.

#5 Removal of pet waste

Remove as much solid waste manually, then rinse with a hose. If you must wash the area, mix one and a half cups of any artificial turf cleaner with a gallon of water in a bucket. Apply the solution onto the patch, scrub gently, and then rinse. The solution helps remove pet wastes. Once clean, use your artificial turf-specific rake to brush up your grass blades.

However, in saying so, it is always preferable to apply it in a small inconspicuous area before actually using it on the stain, as there is no guarantee of the outcome. This may also void the warranty of your artificial turf.
